Write and edit project notes

Use a note for site observations, customer requests, measurements, or a checklist for the crew. Notes live in the project’s logbook.

Write a note

  1. Open the project’s Overview and choose Note or Write note. From Home, choose Create → Write note, then select the project.
  2. Write the note. A title is optional; use one when it will make the entry easier to find.
  3. Use the editor’s formatting controls for headings, lists, or checklists when helpful.
  4. Check the save state. Use Save Note if shown, and wait for the note to save before closing.
  5. Open the note from the logbook to review it.

Edit or check off work

Open an existing note to change its text or check off checklist items. Checklists track the items in that note; they do not mark the whole project completed.

If Dave shows Not saved or a save error, keep the editor open and retry. Copy your text somewhere safe before refreshing or closing if the problem continues.

Use AI to help with wording

Where the editor offers AI writing, give it the change you want—for example, “turn these site observations into a short checklist.” Review the result for measurements, scope, names, and promises before keeping it. To record your own notes or a client conversation, use AI Note Taker in a supported mobile app. Ask everyone’s permission before recording a conversation. Use AI Walkthrough when you also want to capture site photos.
