Ask Dave for help with your work
Ask Dave can help with estimate drafts, invoices, schedules, and questions about your business. What it can do depends on your access and the features available to your business.
Start a conversation
- Open Ask Dave from navigation or Home. In supported mobile versions, open Dave AI → Ask Dave.
- Name the project or client and describe the result you want. Include dates, scope, or amounts when they matter.
- Attach a relevant file using the attachment action if needed, or use dictation where available.
- Send your request. Read Dave’s response and answer any follow-up questions.
- Review any proposed document or schedule change before accepting it. Follow the review or confirmation action shown.
- Open the resulting estimate, invoice, or event to verify what was saved or sent.
Examples of clear requests
- “Draft an estimate for the deck repair project using the scope in this note.”
- “Show me which invoices are still unpaid.”
- “Help schedule a two-hour site visit for the garage project next Tuesday morning.”
If more than one job could match, identify the exact project before continuing. Review customer details, quantities, pricing, taxes, dates, and recipients. A draft is not the same as a sent document, and a suggested time is not the same as a saved event.
Correct a result
Tell Dave exactly what needs changing, then review the updated result. If an action is unavailable, use the normal product workflow or ask your admin about permissions. Do not assume a chat response alone confirms that a customer received a message or made a payment.
