Review estimate versions and approvals
Open a project’s Estimate tab to review the quote. Check whether you are looking at a draft, a sent estimate, or an approved version before changing or invoicing the work.
Find the current version
Open Version history to review earlier versions. If Dave says Viewing an older version, choose Go to current version before continuing with current work. Compare the scope and total when a client refers to an earlier quote.
Make a change
Use the estimate’s available edit or revision action, update the work, and review the new total. Before sending, check the scope, contract details, deposit, client, and recipients. Confirm which version you are sending.
If Dave reports that someone else changed the estimate while you were editing, review the latest version before retrying. Keep a copy of any text you need; do not assume your old view contains your teammate’s changes.
Record approval received elsewhere
When a client has already approved outside Dave, use Approve manually or Approve Without Sending, if available. Read the confirmation and only proceed when it matches the approval you actually received. Dave notifies the client of manual approval. Do not use it just to skip asking the client.
Invoice the approved work
Open the approved estimate and use the invoice action, or use Pull from Estimate when building an invoice. Review the version and selected items so you bill the intended scope.
